There’s a theory that mastering any craft requires 10,000 hours of dedicated practice. The 10,000 Hours documentary series brings this concept to life by exploring the journey behind mastery. Set in Charlotte, NC, each episode dives into the stories of local musicians—who they are, why they pursue their artistry, and what it truly takes to excel in their fields.
Our pilot episode, The 10,000 Hours of Low Groves, introduces this concept to the public. Adam Naliwajko, known as Low Groves, is an indie-folk artist from Chicago who found a welcoming music scene after moving to Charlotte. From experimenting with GarageBand in his grandparents basement, to performing at some of Charlotte’s top venues—including The Underground, Visulite Theater, and The Evening Muse—Low Groves continues his pursuit of mastery. This is the story behind his music.

This coming-of-age comedy follows a birthday entertainer who is hired for a peculiar job by an eccentric, wealthy man-child determined to relive his lost childhood. As outrageous antics and hilarity unfold, the two embark on an unexpected journey of friendship. Created as part of the 2024 48 Hour Film Project, this short film is a quirky tale of connection and rediscovery.

Bobby Mackey’s is supposedly known as the most haunted music bar in the country. Located in wilder Kentucky, our team “SKEPTIC” sets out to put that to the test. On the team we have “Gary Barnidge” who is a complete non believer in anything paranormal. Joined by Taylor Russ and Liv Cawley the team is hard set to find any evidence that the paranormal exists. Watching from the outside we have DeAngelo Williams navigating the team from the “Com-Tent”. Is Bobby Mackey’s really Haunted? Or is it just a place to enjoy live country music as Bobby Mackey himself would suggest you think?
